When a goody two shoes student gets pregnant, her friends, family and religious school classmates all turn on her. See what this 2004 cult classic reveals about the often dangerous mixing of religious conservatism and "sex education". Stay for a panel discussion with local faith leaders on the role the faith community can play in effective sex education.
4:00pm The Education of Shelby Knox [NR - Documentary]
When 15-year old Shelby Knox questions how her Texas high school addresses sex education, she finds herself on the front lines of the culture wars. See how Shelby transforms her community and starts her journey to becoming a well-known youth activist. Stay for a panel discussion on North Carolina's sex education law and the strides we need still need to make to keep North Carolina teens safe.
7:00pm The Gloucester 18 [NR - Documentary]
In 2009, eighteen high-schoolers in Gloucester, Massachusetts got pregnant, sparking worldwide rumors of a "pregnancy pact". See what happened to the girls and their babies, what the incident says about teen pregnancy in popular culture, and if the girls actually had a pact. Stay for a panel discussion on the surge in teen pregnancy in pop culture and what it means for local teens.

It may take a few hours to receive this email. You can also log back in to your Eventbrite account to print tickets. You will also receive an additional email from Google Checkout as a receipt for online payment.
Festival passes entitle the purchaser to come-and-go entry to the film festival. If you view a film, we ask that you respect panel presenters by staying for the discussion.
APPCNC reserves the right request a valid student ID (college, high school, etc.) or proof of 'under 18' age of Student Festival Pass holders. Tickets are nonrefundable.
Advocacy Training
Interested in a whole weekend of advocacy training? APPCNC is hosting a day-long training for youth, parents, and youth-serving professionals on Sunday, February 20. Limited overnight accommodations (lock-in style) are available for those who attend both the training and film festival. Learn more... (You must register separately through this link.)
